The Wallace-Harris Company represents four generations of involvement in real
estate projects in and around the Jackson, Tennessee area. The Wallace family moved to Madison County
in the late 1800s. Jim Wallace, Jimmy Wallace’s grandfather and Lee Wallace Driver’s great grandfather,
was a railroader/businessman/farmer involved in various businesses in Madison County. His son, Hal
Wallace, started the business (now Wallace-Harris) in the early 1960s when he sold his wholesale seed
and fertilizer business, the Wallace Seed Company, and devoted full time to real estate interests.
Jimmy Wallace, a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Law, joined his father in 1968. Jimmy Harris,
a University of Memphis graduate (1972), partnered with the two Wallaces in 1987. Lee Wallace Driver,
a graduate of the University of Richmond (B.S.B.A. 1996), and Vanderbilt University (B.S.C.E. 1998),
is a civil engineer who joined the Company in 2004.
